Renner, Laura Lee age 58 of Valencia, CA formerly of Cottage Grove, MN.
Laura was born in St. Paul, MN on October 11, 1956 to Warren and Patricia Gamache. She grew up with four brothers and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth. At an early age, Laura was diagnosed with Arthritis. This crippling disease did not stop Laura from having an active childhood. She graduated from Park High of Cottage Grove, MN in 1974. Soon after graduating from high school, she met Greg Renner and on March 8, 1980 they were married. Later that year Laura and Greg moved to Los Angeles, CA so Greg could attend the Los Angeles Police Academy and then serve as a police officer. Laura found employment with Scottish and York Insurance. In 1983 she moved to Vulcan Materials Company where she served as Telecom Manager. From 1998 to 2007 Laura took on the role of Foster Parent, Board Member, President and Treasurer for Mending Kids. While serving in this position she coordinated medical services for needy children in Nicaragua and other countries. During 2000 to 2007 Laura also worked for SixSixOne as an Accounts Receivable Clerk.
Besides her family, Laura's faith in God was paramount. She donated much of her time to her church and community. She taught bible study, donated time with the Santa Clarita Pregnancy Center, the Knights of Columbus. She and Greg were involved with the Healing the Children Organization where they served as Foster Parents for Children coming to the local area with special needs. It was through this organization that Laura and Greg sponsored Ninfa Cerrato who became their God Daughter. She organized shipments of medical equipment, school supplies and other needed equipment to communities in Nicaragua.
One of Laura's biggest joys came on July 31, 2008 when her and Greg adopted Ashley. Being a Mother was so important to her and she loved every minute of it. She enjoyed spending her time with family, entertaining, organizing functions for a variety of different organizations in her community. She never complained or let her medical issues slow her down. Her positive attitude and outlook in life was a blessing to all.
On August 18th our Lord called her home. She leaves behind a loving husband, Greg Renner; a beautiful daughter, Ashley Renner; her parents, Warren and Patricia Gamache; brothers, Mac, Steve, Russell, James; and her sister, Lisa.
