DAVE WAS THE FIRST FRIEND THAT I MET WHEN I ENTER NINETH GRADE ,IT WAS MY FIRST YEAR IN COTTAGE GROVE, I HAD JUST MOVED FROM ST PAUL IN THE SUMMER TIME AND WE WERE ON THE SAME SCHOOL BUS WE STARTED HANGING MORE AN MORE, IT WAS  FUN GOING OVER TO HIS HOUSE AND TALKING TO HIS MOM AND DAD. HIS DAD OWN THE LOCAL GAS STATION AND SOLD RUPP MINI BIKES, I REMEMBER THE TIME THAT DAVE GOT IN A FIST  FIGHT WITH HIS FRIEND DAN JONES DOWN BY PARK JUNIOR HIGH  ,HE WON AND I REMEMBER HIM ACTING LIKE HE WAS THE TOUGHES GUY ON THE BUS, HE WAS ONE OF NICES GUYS AROUND . WE HAD SOME CLASSES TOGETHER IN TENTH GRADE AND I REMEMBER THE BIOLOGY TEACHER YELLING AT US BECAUSE WE WERE ALWAYS TALKING IN CLASS, WE SAT IN BACK OF THE CLASS AND ALWAYS SEEMED TO GOOF OFF AND TALKED ABOUT WHAT WE WERE GOING TO DO AFTER SCHOOL, WE EVEN GOT KICK OFF OUR SCHOOL BUS BECAUSE WE TEASED THE DRIVER BECAUSE SHE WAS AN OLDER LADY WEARING GLOVES AND WE CALLED HER DIFFERENT NAMES. WE DIDN,T CARE TO GET KICK OFF THE BUS BECAUSE WE COULD TAKE OUR TIME GETTING TO SCHOOL, I WOULD GO TO HIS HOUSE TO PICK HIM UP AND WE WOULD GOOF OFF ALL THE WAY TO SCHOOL. I WOULD SEE HIM ONLY 3/4 OF  TENTH GRADE . HE  AND A FRIEND  HAD MOVED AWAY UP NORTH AND I DIDNT SEE HIM UNTIL 1974 WHEN I WAS HOME ON LEAVE FROM THE NAVY, HE HAD USED HIS FLASHING LIGHTS   TO GET ME TO PULL OVER ON  HIGHWAY 61  I THOUGHT IT WAS THE POLICE AND HE PULLED UP ALONG SIDE ME, I THINK HE WAS DRUNK BECAUSE HE WAS LAUGHING AND SHOUTING THAT HE GOT ME, I WAS SO GLAD TO SEE HIM BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN YEARS SINCE I HAD SEEN HIM. BUT THAT WOULD BE THE LAST TIME THAT I WOULD SEE HIM AND WHEN I JOINED THE PARK HIGH COMMITTEE THATS WHEN I LEARNED HE HAD PASSED AWAY.  I WISHED I HAD LOOK FOR HIM YEARS AGO BECAUSE I HAD BEEN TOWED A COUPLE OF TIMES BY HIS DAD AND AT THAT TIME  HE WAS A LIVE AND  LIVING UP NORTH SOME WHERE, HIS DAD REMEMBER ME FROM COMMING OVER TO THE HOUSE AND STATION BACK IN THE SCHOOL DAYS.   HE WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED
