Thanks for sharing Dennis!  That is great seeing your children lead.  I would enjoy meeting your son (all your kids).  I am glad that heaven has no time; I can bug people for a long time. blush

I, too, would like to thank all the men and women of our class for their service to our great country ... and to your family members, friends and all that went before us who sacrificed much, including their lives.  Freedom is not free. God’s blessing on your all.

Hi to all and hoping your summer is starting off great. Flowers blooming, lakes open and warm enough to swim, boat, fish...But of course always snowing in Minnesota throughout the year (cottonwood trees) wreaking havoc on A/C units, besides always landing in your face when you are carrying something. And then we also have the woodtick/mosquito season along with the 4 month road construction season. But then again there is the summer of weddings, graduations, barbecuing, walks, bike rides, cabin trips.... So, I wish everyone a great safe and fun summer!

Ahhh yes summer! Summer just had it's official start here in Lindstrom with Harmony In The Park having there first concert. The White  Sidewalls  for those who remember. I can sit on my front steps and hear them just fine so no need for me to find a place to park. Next week my brother's band will be playing. Then all the neighbouring festivals begin, so summer here we come.Bob I also hope everyone will have a safe and great summer.

Hi 'mates
Today's St Paul paper has an article about changing class times
A study says teenagers work better when they've had more sleep... hmm ya think
Did any of you get caught in the split shifts at Park Jr high when Woodbury was getting finished?

Donna Absey (Stuhr)

Split shifts oh ya what a mess! All tho I must say I took full advantage of the free time.

And then the following spring when Oltman got struck by lightning the Park Jr. High students went through it again, my Grandma enjoyed that time, as I would walk down to her house, spend the morning with her, have lunch (no one cooks as good as a Grandma!!) and the go to school til 5:00

What a wonderful Father's day!  One gift given was a hammock.  Anyone know what you do with it? wink

Hmm, Dave I think most of us are still way too active to take the time to use it. I am sure your wife will use it as you work on your list given by her to you. Like the lists I get that say "WE" have to do this andthat which really means that I turn the "W" upside down to "ME" and I get to work. Oh well! Have fun with your new "Hammock"!

Thanks Bob.  I wondered why grandpa could not hear grandma; he acted like he was adjusting his hearing aid to try to hear her.  I would almost whisper, "Grandpa, who is winning the baseball game."  "Twins."  I guess he had too many "Me" tasks too.

Dan, when we age we lose our sleep.  If you are getting up so early... what will happen to you as you age?  Happy Fourth of July to everyone.  Speak your mind for the holiday to celebrate our free speech.  Blessings!

Wives have no problem handing out a honey-do list to their husbands.
Has a husband ever handed a wife a honey-do list - and survived?
wink

Dave the losing sleep to age is not a problem. As an example i had a heck of a time getting up and going before 9 am (darn mother nature yelling). the only reason for 4 am is obligation to work or school.

Reading about the to do list makes me laugh, to day i am cutting up some concrete to remove for a new garage and also to repurpose it for the side walk that has fallen apart. As i am cutting and moving the blocks the wife is making sure she is watching from the yard swing drinking her fruit drink and giving directions on how i should do it. I don't even consider her helping, I would chase her off but the apperance is comical.

Dan, your picture of "your to do list" and your wife's supervision was comical and I had a good belly chuckle!  Thanks for the laugh.  That laugh added another hour to my life.  Blessings!

Hey gang hope you're having a great summer..
I just saw a rerun of the movie, 10 Things I Hate About You... which high school movie do you like?

07/13/18 10:55 PM #1411

David Frazer

Steve, I don't have a high school movie that stands out.  However, I had to diagnose a movie character for my last class that ended last Sunday (Yeah!) and chose Phil from Groundhog Day (Not Phil, the groundhog, but Bill Murray :) ).  He lied about a high school classmate that wasn't and also ran into the insurance salesman, Ned from High School).

Steve,

I would have to say Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is the one that I enjoyed.  It was inventive, funny and made you want Ferris to have a good day off.  (But I did worry about any collateral damage he might have caused.)  I would also submit a “near” High School Movie, American Graffiti.  I like how it takes architype characters and twists them in ways you don’t expect.  It is also mirrors how life might take us down a different path then we planned in High School.

John, Danke Schoen, Darlene Danke schoen (can hear Wayne Newton singing as I type).  Did you go to the boundary waters this summer?  I wonder if Steve Bildeback went?  He bought a company to make the canoe carries (bended bars).  This has been great weather this summer for enjoying the great outdoors!

Hello everyone! I hope all have been having a great start to the summer so far, afterall it is only the start of August tomorrow. Then we will have all of September, October and November. Summer is staying later this year at least my prediction. I am sure Donna and Steve have been to every car show they can get to. Dave are you enjoying your new house. Family actually makes the house a home. Wishing all the very best and a continued healthy and safe summer.
